Stayed at this very charming boutique hotel this past weekend. Absolutely loved it! The room was very clean, warm and welcoming! Dinner and drinks at Sweet Rust restaurant on the first floor was delicious! So many unique options to choose from on the menu. The bartender Andrew, was friendly and very knowledgeable. We purchased several bottles of bourbon to gift. A bottle for us as well. It is a place we will definitely stay at again!
Good things: The location and room was very nice. Close to downtown shops and nice winery in the building. We enjoyed the fireplace. Parking was easy. There were some issues with the heating unit being turned off in our room and not working but calling the innkeeper got this fixed initially. However it stopped working in the middle of the night. Check in and out was also contactless so it felt more like an Airbnb. There was no one working the front desk- phone numbers were left for us to call if needed. Check in was confusing because no instructions on website or with confirmation - we had to call the inn that day to find out what was going on. The soap dish in the bathroom was an old suction cup one so it fell off when we tried using it.
Lovely Historic Hotel - extremely clean, quiet and a great location! A few modern touches would be helpful - floor lamp next to a chair for reading and perhaps a full length mirror somewhere. We were confused checking in - the front door was locked, and we weren't sure about which entrance in the back. Some written directions for the mini-split, TV and the gas fireplace would be helpful. I'm not sure if there were any housekeeping services - not a big deal if you're there for a short time. Of course there's a name and number you can call......but it would be nicer if the information was provided. Since there's no restaurant perhaps some literature about where to eat and things to do. We'll definitely go back.
